The 2019 Nissan Sentra in Albuquerque, NM is no doubt a dependable sedan and a great car. The latest model is a large step forward for the flagship car of the brand. However, the 2019 Kia Forte beats it overwhelmingly when it comes to safety features, passenger space, and fuel economy.

Safety Comparison
In 2018, the Nissan Sentra was awarded the “Top Safety Pick.” While its crash test results were impressive, it fell short when it came to its headlights. The 2019 Kia Forte fared better, garnering a “Top Safety Pick +” award. The Kia Forte’s projector beam headlights were superior, and its front crash prevention test results were better, hands down.
The active safety systems of each vehicle covered all of the necessary areas. They weren’t all offered at the standard trims, however. Meanwhile, at the top trims, the Nissan Sentra and the Kia Forte both had options for blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, and lane keeping assist, among others.
The Kia Forte proved why it was a step ahead with its active safety systems. Options offered include Parking Distance Warning Reverse (PDW-Rev) and Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA) with Pedestrian Detection. The Nissan Sentra did not have counterparts for the aforementioned functions, giving the Kia Forte the upper hand.
