For 2024 Kia has refined their four primary Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) lines to better meet consumer needs. While the South Korean car company produces a wide range of vehicles with many SUV-type qualities (including all-wheel drive, higher rooflines for increased utility and sufficient ground clearance for occasional off-road forays), the following four Kia models are uniquely suited to meet the challenges of driving on-and-off-road around the Santa Fe area. Let’s start with the compact Kia SUV first, the Kia Seltos, redesigned for 2024 is designed to be slightly larger. It features best-in-class AWD interior space and an available 1.6 turbo engine with 195 horsepower. The Seltos can also be configured with a 2.0-liter DOHC engine in the LX, S and EX trims that feature 146 horsepower and 132 lb/ft of torque. EPA rates the FWD Seltos at 28 city/34 highway and 31 overall mileage. This two row crossover features the latest safety technology with collision avoidance and emergency braking available. Starting at $24,390, the 2024 Kia Seltos is available in 13 different paint colors and six different interior colors and designs.
The 2024 Kia Sportage SUV
Next up is the 2024 Kia Sportage, which is slightly larger and also has room for four full-size passengers and their luggage. It steps up the creature comforts too, with a panoramic sliding sunroof and features like a blind-spot monitor. The Sportage is available in three different submodels: gas-powered, pure hybrid and a plug-in hybrid model. This latter offers 261 horsepower, 258 lb/ft torque and 81 MPGe (electric and gas motors combined) for an amazingly powerful and efficient ride. All these features, together with Kia’s 10 year, 100,000-mile drivetrain warranty are standard with every Kia sold. The 2024 Sportage also has an available dual panoramic display that spans across the instrument panel with the latest technological and entertainment features. Starting at near $26,290 (2023 pricing) the Kia Sportage offers best-in-class cargo storage at 39.6 square feet behind the seats for everything your family and friends need for your next urban or outdoor adventure!
The 2024 Kia Sorento: Midsize Kia SUV near Santa Fe, NM
The 2024 Sorento is Kia’s midsize SUV and uses both a 2.5-liter turbocharged gas engine, and an available gas hybrid powertrain to power it down the road. The interior has room for up the seven passengers and can be configured with 5 + 2 seating configurations, depending on who and what is being carried. The 2024 Kia Sorento won’t be left behind on safety or entertainment technology either, with 13 driver assistance features in a futuristic cabin with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto available for use. This three row SUV also has eight USB charge ports spread throughout the cabin so no one will feel left out. Crisp lines and angular fenders also feature LED headlights, while the Sorento X-line is configured for more rugged off-road excursions with torque-vectoring AWD, center locking differential and 1” more ground clearance for better approach and departure angles. Starting at $30,090 (2023 pricing), the 2024 Sorento can do it all.
The 2024 Kia Telluride: Large Kia SUV
At the top of the Kia SUV lineup is the 2024 Kia Telluride, which is the largest three row SUV Kia sells. With seating up to eight, the Telluride uses a 291-HP V6 engine with up to a 5,500 pound towing capacity. Standard equipment includes LED projection beam headlights, safe exit warning and no less than nine airbags (with two of them mounted on the second row outboard seats). Judged to be among the safest cars on the road, the 2024 Kia Telluride carries the IIHS Top Safety Pick for accident avoidance. Technology abounds, with 17 different driver assistance technologies onboard and AWD as standard equipment. The interior features an available 12.3 dual panoramic display that spreads the instruments over 24” of the dashboard. With over 10 trim levels available and starting at $35,990, the Kia Telluride remains a tour de force in the 2024 Kia SUV lineup.
