In March of 2024, Kia announced the discontinuation of the compact Kia Forte sedan, with this as its last year. Later that same month, at the New York International Auto Show, the company debuted the all-new Kia K4, the compact four-door sedan and five-door hatchback set to fill the space the Forte leaves behind.

2025 Kia K4 near Santa Fe, NM: Trim Levels
The new Kia K4 starts at a very reasonable $21,990 for the entry-level base LX, making it one of the most affordable models in its class. Moving up the trim ladder, the models and prices are as follows:
- LX - $21,990
- LXS - $22,990
- EX - $23,990
- GT-Line - $25,190
- GT-Line Turbo - $28,090
Trims are available in Aurora Black Pearl, Currant Red, Deep Sea Blue, Steel Gray, Morning Haze, Wave Blue, and Snow White Pearl exterior paint. Not all trims are available in all colors. Several interior color schemes are available, including Gray & Black, Green & Black, Black & White, or Black & Red seat trims in cloth, SynTex, or a combination of both.
Power and Performance
There are two engine options for the Kia K4. A 147-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder is under the hood of most trims, and is paired with an Intelligent Auto Variable Transmission. The GT-Line Turbo, however, heats things up with a more robust 190-horsepower 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. This one is coupled with a conventional 8-speed automatic transmission and has a more sophisticated multi-link rear suspension (also found in the GT-Line).
Fuel economy differs between trims:
- LX – 30/40/34 mpg for city/highway/combined
- LXS, EX, and GT-Line – 29/39/33 mpg city/hwy/combined
- GT-Line Turbo – 26/36/29 mpg city/hwy/combined
Interior and Technology
With room for five passengers, the new Kia K4 boasts a spacious cabin, with available heated and ventilated power-adjustable seats in the front. And because theKia K4 is larger than the outgoing Forte, you and your passengers will enjoy more head, shoulder, and legroom than ever before! There’s also lots of space for your gear, thanks to nearly 15 cubic feet of trunk space.
USB charging ports in front and back ensure everyone stays connected while on the road, and available ambient interior lighting sets the mood. Bluetooth makes connecting to standard Apple CarPlay/Android Auto a snap, and all models come with Sirius XM satellite radio.
While 11 advanced driver-assist features are standard, buyers can upgrade to include a total of 29 safety/ADA features. A 360-degree Surround View Monitor is available, and you can get a live video feed on your drives with the Blind-Spot View Monitor.
