What to Look for When Buying a Used Kia near Rio Rancho NM

Buying a used Kia near Rio Rancho NM is an excellent choice if you’re looking for something with a lower price tag that can get you where you’re going. We understand that buying a used car can be stressful, especially if you aren’t an expert on cars. Yet it doesn’t need to be! Listed below are five things to look for when shopping for a pre-owned vehicle.

Under the Hood

Before you get in a used car to take it for a test drive, pop the hood and take a look. Although you may not be a mechanic, you can at least check for things that could be red flags. Is the engine bay clean and free of oil splatters? Do you see corrosion on the battery or wires? These can be signs that the car may not be in the best condition. You can also check belts and hoses for cracks by giving them a squeeze. If everything seems okay, you can move on to the next item.

Exterior Condition of Used Kia near Rio Rancho NM

Take a walk around the car to look for damage that may be cause for concern or that could decrease its value. Any gaps or misaligned panels may indicate that the car was involved in some type of crash. You should ask the seller for a vehicle history report if you notice anything. And while you’re looking, it’s also a good idea to check that headlights and brake lights are functional before getting on the highway. Don’t forget to examine the tire treads, check for scuffs or scrapes on the wheels, and look at the undercarriage for potential rust.

Interior Condition

Now it’s time to inspect the inside for any obvious signs of damage. Look for rips or tears in the upholstery and any stains. You’ll also want to verify that the AC and heater work properly by turning them on. Try out the windshield wipers and test that all control knobs are fully functional. If the seats are electronically controlled, test them and window and mirror adjustments. Lastly, check that the odometer reading is the same as what the seller has told you.

Mileage

Sadly, there is no easy answer to the question, “What is good mileage for a used car?” It all depends on how well the vehicle was maintained. Keep in mind to use caution when buying an auto with high mileage because engine parts aren’t made to last indefinitely, and city miles are tougher on a vehicle than highway miles. But if the car was maintained well, it can easily go another 100,000 miles – especially if it’s a used Kia near Rio Rancho NM.

Vehicle History Report

A vehicle history report will help you to identify problems you can’t see by just looking at the car. You’ll discover any accidents the car has sustained and if there are any issues with the title. A good dealership like Fiesta Kia will give you the vehicle history report or you can download one from the internet by using the VIN number. If you’re purchasing from an individual, you really should get the report to determine if everything you’ve been told is accurate.

Conclusion

Keep these five things in mind, and you can buy your next used car with confidence! Our team at Fiesta Kia is committed to providing you and all our customers with the best possible experience in car-buying. Thanks to a great selection of used cars, trucks and SUVs, as well as certified pre-owned vehicles, we’re sure you’ll find your next vehicle at Fiesta Kia, located just a short drive away at 7400 Lomas Blvd NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico!

The 2023 Kia Sorento near Santa Fe NM is a Terrific Choice for Families on the Go!

For a minivan alternative, you can’t go wrong with the family-friendly 2023 Kia Sorento near Santa Fe NM. It may seem like an unassuming near-compact SUV, but it’s quite a unique little crossover. Although it’s classed with other midsize 3-row SUVs, it’s smaller and more affordable than its rivals like the Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, and even its sibling, the Kia Telluride. It’s unique also for having third-row seating as standard, unlike similar-sized counterparts such as the Chevy Blazer, Nissan Murano, and Ford Edge, which come only with two rows.

Highlights of the Sorento

Along with the additional row of seating, the Sorento has state-of-the-art infotainment and safety features, an upscale interior, and an industry-leading (10-year/100,000-mile) powertrain warranty. It’s a very attractive SUV, with sophisticated styling, as well.  And did we mention the affordable price tag?

The rugged X-Line appearance package dresses up the all-wheel-drive models, which offer good all-weather traction and an extra inch of ground clearance. However, despite looking the part, the X-Line version isn’t as serious an off-roader as the Ford Bronco or Jeep Wrangler; but do you really need it to be?

2023 Kia Sorento near Santa Fe NM: Power and Performance

If you don’t need to be the quickest off the line, the naturally aspirated 191-horsepower 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine that’s under the hood of the LX and S models will suit you just fine. Otherwise, you can get a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four that delivers up to 281-hp with an 8-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic transmission) on all remaining models (X-Line, EX, X-Line EX, SX, SX Prestige, X-Line SX Prestige). You can select all-wheel drive for any trim level, but front-wheel drive comes standard.

Fuel economy on FWD models looks like 24/29/26 MPG for city/highway/combined, with AWD models dipping just a bit with 23/25/24. With a nicely sized 17.7-gallon fuel tank, you won’t have to stop to refill as often as you think.

A 1.6-liter hybrid powertrain pushing 227 hp option is offered in the Sorento Hybrid S and Sorento Hybrid EX trims, and a plug-in hybrid version with 261-hp is provided on the Sorento PHEV SX and SX Prestige. You’ll get 37 MPG with the hybrid and a whopping 79 MPGe on the plug-in.

Notable Features

Like all Kia vehicles, the 2023 Sorento comes standard with impressive features and amenities. To name just a few, you’ll get wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, multiple USB charging ports, Drive Mode Select, LED headlights, and 17-inch alloy wheels. An 8-inch touchscreen and a Rear-View Monitor with Dynamic Parking Guidance, One Touch Slide & Fold second-row seats, and remote keyless entry also come standard, even on the base LX trim. And there are many driver-assist features with Kia’s Drive Wise Driver-Assist Technology. What’s more, you’ll get even more amenities with each step up the trim levels!

Conclusion

If you like a smaller-sized SUV but sometimes need to haul more than five people, the 2023 Kia Sorento near Santa Fe NM should be at the top of your list. There are only a few not-so-big SUVs currently available that offer third-row seating. Lining up between the compact five-passenger Kia Sportage and the larger Telluride, the Sorento is the perfect size that can accommodate up to seven passengers when needed. Come check it out today at Fiesta Kia, 7400 Lomas Blvd NE in Albuquerque, NM.

The 2023 Kia Rio S in Albuquerque NM Offers a Lot for a Little

With gas prices higher than ever and EV prices not exactly affordable, you may be feeling a bit panicky if you’re on a budget and on the market for a new car. Relax, and take a deep breath because Kia has the answer to your prayers.

The 2023 Kia Rio S in Albuquerque NM is a budget-friendly subcompact sedan that gets great gas mileage and treats you with a nice bit of technology. This unassuming little runabout has everything you need to get you through the morning commute, but unlike its base LX sibling, it also has some nicer-than-basic touches like a center console with a storage bin and a split-folding rear seat. The price difference is minor compared to the LX trim, and you’ll get more standard features. And if you’re worried there isn’t enough safety tech onboard; a Technology package is available for the Rio S for around $1800.

2023 Kia Rio S in Albuquerque NM: Pricing

Even with the rising cost of everything around us, sources such as Kelley Blue Book are estimating the price of the 2023 Rio to be somewhat close to the current price. If this proves true, expect the base cost to be around $16,500, which is one of the most inexpensive new cars you can find today! This super low price makes the Rio an easy choice for college-bound students or those needing a good daily commuter.

While the Rio LX is the base model and only available as a sedan, the 2023 Rio S comes as a sedan or hatchback. The slightly higher-priced five-door hatchback version will likely start around $17,500.

2023 Kia Rio S in Albuquerque NMChanges to the 2023 Rio S

Having debuted for the 2018 model year, the Rio received some restyling for 2021, and other than a few minor updates, we don’t expect much change for the upcoming model. Due to waning interest in cars and increased interest in SUVs, many manufacturers are doing away with their extra small sedans like the Rio. Luckily, Kia hasn’t stopped but doesn’t seem likely to make significant investments in their most economical car. For that reason, you shouldn’t expect substantial changes for 2023.

Features

On both the sedan and hatchback 2023 Kia Rio S in Albuquerque NM, you’ll get wireless Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, backup camera, a front and rear USB port, cloth seats, remote keyless entry, cruise control, sliding center armrest, and 60/40 sliding rear seats with adjustable headrests.

The technology package adds LED headlights, 15-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles, rear disc brakes (as opposed to drum), satellite radio, push-button start, a 4.2-inch driver information display, and automatic climate control. It also adds more driver-assist tech, including lane-keep/lane following assist, auto emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear occupant alert, driver attention warning, and automatic high beams.

Kia S Performance

The Rio gets its power from a fuel-efficient 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder paired with a continuously variable transmission for virtually undetectable shifting. Although it delivers a humble 120 horsepower, its 112 lb-ft of torque helps this lightweight vehicle go when you need it. What’s more impressive is the way the Rio absorbs bumps for such a small vehicle. Thanks goes to its solidly built structure and well-tuned suspension. It also shines with controlled body rolls in corners and has nicely weighted and precise steering.

Like most sedans, the Rio is front-wheel drive, but unlike most sedans, it rates at 33 mpg city and an incredible 41 mpg highway! And with its nearly 12-gallon fuel tank, you’ll stop less to fill up.

Arrival Date

So far, no date has been given as to when the new Rio will make its appearance. But we believe it’s likely to arrive late this summer, or at best, this fall, if ongoing supply issues hamper production. But no matter when it arrives, you can test drive it here at Fiesta Kia, located at 7400 Lomas Blvd NE, right here in Albuquerque, NM.

The 2023 Kia EV6 is Taking the Lead in Alternate Energy Transportation

Who would’ve thought back in 1992, that the newly-introduced Kia brand would become one of the top contenders in the EV race of the early 21st century? But it did! Kia is now a leader among greener versions of the automobile, those alternate energy performers known as hybrids, plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), and fully electric vehicles. And while Kia has several offerings in the hybrid/EV segment, this article will focus specifically on the 2023 Kia EV6 near Santa Fe NM.

What is the EV6?

Kia’s EV6, their first fully electric vehicle, was introduced for the 2022 model year, and is quickly becoming one of the top participants in its class. It’s a small crossover, built on the company’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) which will underpin Kia’s future electric models. According to the manufacturer, the E-GMP uses “significant amounts of ultra-high-strength steel to provide a structure that’s both lighter and stronger, delivering better handling, safety, and a wheelbase similar to many mid-size SUVs.”

Because it was built from the start as an EV (and not a modified version of a hybrid vehicle), the EV6 has many design advantages. With no engine or other ICE (internal combustion engine) components to worry with, Kia gave the EV6 streamlined styling along with a relatively spacious interior compared with its overall dimensions. And since it was recently released as an all-new vehicle, the 2023 EV6 should come as a carryover model.

 Power and Performance

The 2023 Kia EV6 near Santa Fe NM is offered with multiple powertrains. The lower trims are equipped with one electric motor on the rear wheels and either a 58-kWh battery or a 77.4-kWh battery pack. You’ll get up to 167 horsepower with the smaller battery and 225 hp with the larger one. Higher trim models get two electric motors, which are only offered with the 77.4-kWh battery pack. Horsepower output with the dual-motor setup ranges from 320 hp to 576 hp, and depending on the configuration, the EV6 can travel up to 310 miles on a single charge. And due to its newness, the 2023 EV6’s powertrains will likely remain the same for the new model year.

Another plus for the EV6 is its compatibility with the updated, ultra-quick public DC fast-charging stations. This means that in ideal conditions, the company says you can replenish 70 miles in fewer than five minutes and charge the battery from 10% to 80% capacity in less than 18 minutes when using a 350-kW charger.

Driving the 2023 Kia EV6 near Santa Fe NM

You’ll love being at the wheel of the EV6, because in both RWD and AWD versions the acceleration is fast enough to feel yourself pinned to your seat! Depending on the model, 0-60 mph can be reached anywhere from 8 seconds to only 3.5 seconds for the upcoming GT model. One of the perks of electric vehicles is the delivery of full output almost immediately- no waiting on turbochargers to spool up or for ICE engines to hit the sweet spot!

The remainder of the EV6 complements the output with calmness and grace, while staying comfortable enough for more ordinary driving conditions. Precision steering that’s nicely weighted is easy to handle and the brakes are strong and confident, even with four levels of energy regeneration. Thanks to the battery’s placement beneath the floor, the center of gravity is low and sweet, which adds to the vehicle’s stability.

Interior Comfort

Remember the E-GMP platform? Thanks to it, the Kia EV6 has a completely flat floor and lots of space to keep five passengers comfy. Rear passenger space is increased by front seats with a slimmer design than what’s typical, without sacrificing comfort. The back seats also recline and split and fold in the usual 60/40 fashion.

In the cabin, the design is modern and upscale with two large easy-to-read screens dominating the dashboard, a two-spoke steering wheel, and clean, angular lines. A smidgeon of physical knobs on the center console helps the EV6 feel like it was designed with the driver in mind, rather than keeping to the touchscreen-only philosophy of rivals.

Tech-wise, the 2023 EV6 comes standard with the above-mentioned screens coming in at 12.3-inches each for the instrument cluster and infotainment display, four speakers, navigation, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Bluetooth, voice recognition, a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, and a wireless charging pad.

A list of standard and available safety/driver-assist features is too extensive to list here, but know that it’s very generous and what you’d expect.

SUV Life Just Improved Drastically with the Kia Telluride in Albuquerque NM

The Kia Telluride in Albuquerque NM has motored into position to stir up a frenzy amongst SUV lovers near and far. While Toyota has long been recognized as a contender in all vehicle lines, the comfort factor has been shaken into a rather uncomfortable reality. Kia’s Telluride offers a more refined and dependable version of the family SUV with an abundance of luxury and about everything else one might seek when perusing the sports utility vehicle theater.

Simplicity that Stuns

The Kia Telluride in Albuquerque NM sports a unique appearance from its competitors. Kia refrained from designing the vehicle with sharp edges and overpowering accessories that lead to a gawky look instead of one that depicts balance and consistency. The Telluride sports a monochromatic paint scheme with side mirrors painted with the same brush as the body and door handles. Here, no flash or flare is needed to illuminate an appearance that impresses with an exemplary depiction of stunning beauty. The front grille is colored in a robust black, and Kia carried it around the vehicle. Fender wells and window trim are all adorned in the same color to formulate continuity to the rear, which is used to trim the bumper and taillights. The only item that can compare to the excitement of the new vehicle badging is the black sport rims that carry the Telluride across the highways and down the trails. Driving is now limitless from a vehicle engineered to be superior in performance and looks as well.

Kia Telluride in Albuquerque NM: Power in Numbers

While some SUV manufacturers remain consistent in outfitting vehicles with gas-guzzling V8 engines, Kia took an alternate approach. Instead, the automaker equipped the Telluride with a more than capable V6 engine that is 3.8-liters in size. As a result, an impressive 291 horsepower lives at the pedal and steering wheel. Adding to the exciting capability, the Telluride packs five thousand pounds of towing capacity. Boats and travel trailers can quickly be hitched up for a Telluride tow. Control is easily found and maintained with Kia’s automatic transmission. Working in perfect harmony, the Telluride’s engine and transmission provide the absolute best in vehicle performance.

Seating and Space

The Telluride boasts an impressive and comfortable riding experience. This is primarily due to an abundance of legroom and storage space availability. Functioning as a 7-passenger vehicle, the second-row seating is offered in a bucket seat design. Passage to the rear with more legroom results makes any family cross-country haul a breeze. With plenty of headroom to match the surplus of legroom, the telluride continues offering vast space. The storage volume computes to 46 cubic feet behind the second row. Total passenger volume shocks all at 178.1 cubic feet. Variations in passenger size and multiple luggage configurations are a welcomed sporting event when preparing the Telluride for travel.

Advanced Technology

The Telluride features various features that generate smiles in all who experience their presence. Familiar and specific music can easily be transmitted from the smartphone throughout the Harmon Kardon 10-speaker stereo system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Those looking for a particular radio station or even a professional baseball game can have what they seek with Sirius Satellite radio availability. The most exciting technological advancement is the push-to-talk feature. The river can communicate with passengers in the rear by pushing a button, which results in the driver’s voice being amplified through the rear speakers. No one oversleeps after long-distance travel with technology like this. To learn more about the Kia Telluride in Albuquerque, contact Fiesta Kia at 7400 Lomas Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87110.

Quick Hacks for Road-Tripping with Family in a Kia around Rio Rancho

Traveling is fun when you don’t have to think about others. But when you are going with kids, it’s a different story. They’re cute and cheerful, but they can also be mischievous and have little patience. A peaceful drive can quickly turn chaotic when the tantrums kick in. This is why road-tripping with your family in a Kia around Rio Rancho requires more meticulous preparation. Do the following life hacks for a stress-free family getaway.

A kid-friendly itinerary

When you become a parent, it will quickly dawn on you that life is not just about you anymore. In fact, it will all be about your kids. Even when planning a vacation, you should always consider what will make them happy or entertained. Especially when choosing places to visit, expect kid-friendly attractions, such as recreational parks and zoos, to dominate your list. Save the playhouses and wineries for next time.

“I want to sit in the front seat!”

Sibling rivalry is every parent’s nightmare during a long trip. Kids will fight over just about anything. For example, the seating arrangement in your car may mean nothing to you, but to your kids, it’s a big deal. They feel their status in the family hierarchy threatened whenever they get the short end of the stick. They want to sit in the front seat because it makes them feel important. Also, they enjoy seeing their rival trapped in the worst seat–or at least, this is how some kids think. As the parent, consider switching seats at every stop to prevent this absurdity from ruining your trip.

First aid kit and car sickness meds

Children are prone to car sickness, especially when traveling nonstop in your Kia around Rio Rancho for several hours. Thankfully, there are anti-car-sickness medicines they can take. But before buying any over-the-counter tablets, it is best to consult with your pediatrician first. Prescribed meds are your safest option. Also, they work best when taken at least an hour before traveling.

Keep the little rascals busy

There are only two situations where kids behave well: when they’re asleep and when they’re busy. Of course, you can’t expect them to sleep throughout the entire journey. They’ll be awake most of the time, and that’s when they can get restless and irritable. Giving them a phone or tablet to play with might work, but only for an hour or two. So, you should load up on several alternatives, such as playing cards and puzzle pads. A portable Lego kit may also be a great idea, but be ready to deal with clutter afterward.

Give your car a tune-up

Here comes the most crucial part—car tune-up. If you haven’t maintained your vehicle recently, this is the best time to do it. Check for worn-out belts, spark plugs, and filters and replace them if necessary. Get all-terrain tires if you plan to travel off the road and camp in the wilderness. And bring spare tires, too. It’s even better if you bring an extra amount of anything essential, including food, water, fuel, and batteries.

Road trips make extraordinary memories, especially when you’re with your kids. Don’t let a few setbacks ruin it. Make all the necessary preparations, and your journey will go smoothly. If you want to ensure your car will be in perfect shape for the long ride, consider taking it for professional servicing. Check out Fiesta Kia for more helpful tips.

Do These Simple Summer Maintenance Hacks on Your Kia From Santa Fe, NM

While summer is everyone’s favorite season, it’s not the best time for vehicles. This is when tire blowouts and mechanical failures occur more frequently. The extreme heat might even boil away essential fluids in your car’s engine and transmission system. Fortunately, you can avoid these problems with proper maintenance. Follow these simple summer maintenance hacks for your Kia in Santa Fe, NM.

Tire Check and Replacement

Roads, especially in cities, get very hot during summer. They can burst heavily worn-down tires pretty quickly. Check if your tires still have enough tread to handle the rubber-melting temperature. Rotation may do the trick if only one side of each tire is scuffed and the other is still thick enough—no need to replace them yet. Also, check the pressure. Make sure to pump not too much or too little air. The general rule is to keep the pressure at 35 psi before you start driving; better yet, check your car’s manual to see the recommended tire pressure. If you think your tires won’t last the season, replace them immediately to avoid tire blowouts, which can lead to fatal accidents.

Brake Test and Maybe a New Rotor or Brake Pad

Does it feel hard or mushy when you step on the brake pedal? If it’s mushy, odds are the brake pads and rotors are severely deteriorated and must be replaced immediately. It’s also possible that the braking system is running low on hydraulic fluid and needs a refill. If you need to pump in new brake fluid, make sure a trusted mechanic performs this to get the best results. Make sure to check the rotors for grooves. They are the clearest indicator of failing rotors. Don’t hesitate to replace them with a set compatible with your Kia when necessary.

Protect Your Battery

Unfortunately, you cannot do anything to prevent the summer heat from reaching your vehicle’s battery and messing with its charge. However, there are some things you can do to give your battery a fighting chance. For instance, you can avoid short drives to reduce the need to restart the engine. You should also park your vehicle in the shade to prevent exposing your car to excess heat. Your Kia in Santa Fe, NM summer weather will definitely heat up under direct sunlight. Batteries are also prone to corrosion, especially when corrosive substances or fluids are on their surface. Prevent rust from forming by keeping its surface and contact points clean.

New Wiper Blades and Fluids

With a dry climate comes dust and bugs. They’ll bump onto your windshield and blur your view of the road. You’ll need your windshield wipers to scrape them off. And it’s not just insects and dirt you have to worry about. The extreme heat also brings a fair amount of thunderstorms. In other words, you will use your windshield wipers and fluid more often in summer than in any different season. So this is the best time to replace them if you haven’t already.

Maintaining your vehicle requires commitment. It’s hard work and can be expensive, depending on your car’s make, model, and age. If it’s already too old and has several worn-out parts, you might want to leave the maintenance to a mechanic. They can take care of your vehicle more efficiently. Check out Fiesta Kia for more helpful tips.

The 2023 Kia Seltos Near Rio Rancho NM Brings Big News to the SUV Market

The 2023 Kia Seltos near Rio Rancho NM displays a smaller size as it dominates the smaller SUV market, but its power and features punch command great power. While a specific size might dictate the terms of exactly which area of the subcompact market a vehicle may reside, Kia exacted cunning skills in the Seltos design. Although it competes in that subcompact market, it is sized more significant than its competitors like the Hyundai Venue and the Nissan Kicks. Suddenly being the biggest of the bunch carries excellent weight when making that final decision for new car ownership.

Celebrating the New

The 2023 Kia Seltos near Rio Rancho NM has been seen on the highways enough to know it is a contender in the hearts of driving enthusiasts everywhere. It is only fitting that the new features do not overtake the original design and instead celebrate the essence of what its fans revere. The Seltos S has been painted with improvements like cross-traffic alert and automatic emergency braking. Further enhancements include an acoustically designed windshield that reduces that annoying wind noise. A large 10.3-inch touchscreen will serve as a central command with a fine rendition of vehicle navigation technology.

2023 Kia Seltos Near Rio Rancho NM: Under the Hood

The Seltos dominate its class with a powerful energy supply housed beneath the hood. Kia has outfitted this vehicle with two different four-cylinder engine options. The standard 2.0-liter engine boasts 146 horsepower, while the turbocharged version electrifies with 175 horsepower of its own, from a smaller engine size of a 1.6-liter. Depending on the engine of choice, 60 mph can be found in around six to eight seconds. No matter which machine wins over your heart, when paired with the Kia automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, control and performance impress without hesitation.

Inner Beauty

The Seltos welcomes visitors to an interior of pleasantries. It defeats the Kona when it comes to legroom and cargo area. With the rear seats folded down, the Seltos metamorphizes into a significant cargo hold with endless possibilities. More luggage than one could be needed can be easily transported without compromising rear visibility. Ambient lighting offers a warm and pleasant theme and can even be upgraded to something wildly stellar. The materials used to trim and accent the interior components are crafted from a more refined detail and surpass expectations compared to other manufacturers’ models.

Fuel Fancy

With the cost of gasoline at significant highs, improvements in fuel mileage could easily be used as a pawn in determining if a vehicle is worthy of a four-year payment plan to ownership. Kia recognizes the fuel dilemma and the importance of efficiency. As a result, its Seltos is gaining even more popularity. Traveling the highway brings impressive statistics with a fuel economy of 35 mpg. City travel continued the hot streak at 30 mpg. That surpasses the highway accumulation of other vehicles traversing the roadways. To learn more about the Seltos and its features, contact Fiesta Kia at 7400 Lomas Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87110.
