New Trim Levels

The 2019 Kia Forte first came in four trim levels (FE, LXS, S, and EX), and this time around Kia took the good and upgraded it. The 2020 Kia Forte is introduced in five trim levels: FE, LXS, EX, GT, and GT Line. If these options aren't enough to quench your thirst for Kia, you can take it up a few notches by adding the GT1 or GT2 package.

While the Kia Forte has just undergone a complete redesign in its 2019 model, the 2020 Kia Forte near Rio Rancho NM doesn't forget to bring out something new with the GT and GT Line trims. These two trims are sporting exterior upgrades inspired by race cars: aggressive grille with glossy black color and red accents. You'll also get projector headlights with daytime LED running lights as a standard setup. One of the differences between the GT and GT Line's exterior lies in the wheels. The GT Line has a 17" sport alloy wheels with graphite finish, while the GT trim comes with 18" alloys with two-tone finish.

If you want to boost your 2020 Kia Forte's looks, choose the GT1 or GT2 package. You'll be spoiled with the power sunroof, wireless smartphone charging, LED overhead lighting, a 4.2" center LCD screen, and an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. With the GT2 package, you'll also get heated and ventilated SOFINO synthetic leather sport seats with 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat.

Upgraded Engine in the 2020 Kia Forte near Rio Rancho NM

Four of the 2020 Kia Forte trims (FE, LXS, EX, and GT Line) come with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that tops at 147 HP at 6,200 RPM, which can also be found in the 2019 Forte. However, the GT trim level gets the 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that maxes at 201 HP at 6,000 RPM. The 2.0-liter engine has 132 lb-ft of torque, while the 1.6-liter has 195 lb-ft.

All trims come standard with front-wheel drive and a six-speed manual. The difference is in the automatic transmission. Compared to the 2019 model's continuously variable-speed automatic transmission, the 2020 Kia Forte near Rio Rancho NM gets an additional transmission option; the Infinitely Variable, 7-Speed Dual-Clutch Automatic Transmission that is available only on the GT trim level. The other four trim levels are mated to Kia's Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) found in the 2019 model.

Driver Attention Warning

The 2020 Kia Forte boasts a brand-new safety feature that you can find in all of the five trims. This new Driver Attention Warning feature is designed to protect against distracted or drowsy driving. The system will learn the driver's habits and when it detects changes in vehicle behavior, a warning chime will sound and there will be a visual display suggesting the driver take a break.
