The current auto market is brimming with so many crossovers and SUVs that it's difficult to choose the right one. One of the most popular is the 2021 Toyota RAV4 in Albuquerque NM, but is it the right one for you? We think the 2021 Kia Seltos may be a better choice.

It seems that people just can't get enough of the smallest Toyota crossover. They're everywhere you look; so it's obviously a very trendy subcompact SUV option right now. But could it perhaps be over-hyped? We've compared it to the 2021 Kia Seltos and found some areas where the DAV4 is clearly lacking. Keep reading!

2021 Toyota RAV4 in Albuquerque NM vs Kia Seltos Affordability Comparison

Looking at the base trim, the 2021 Toyota RAV4 in Albuquerque NM has an affordable starting price of around $25,000, but to get all-wheel drive you'll need to tack on another $1400. If you're looking to purchase a top-of-the-line RAV4 TRD off-road model, you'll shell out at least $36k.

In comparison, the base 2021 Kia Seltos starts at around $21,000 and comes standard with all-wheel-drive. If you get the top-of-the-line Seltos, you'll only pay around $28k, enabling you to enjoy off-roading capability in luxury, with huge savings. With the upscale interior and beautiful soft-touch surfaces, the Seltos looks way more expensive than what you'll pay.

Both vehicles come with the expected safety and driver assist features, however, the Seltos has several options packages for you to choose from in order to get more features and adding on won't break your budget. Another way to look at the savings difference is this: the top-of-the-line Kia Seltos is about the same price as the RAV4 base model!

According to EPA estimates, the Seltos has slightly better fuel economy, getting 26 mpg in the city and 36 mpg for the highway. The 2021 Toyota RAV4 in Albuquerque NM is rated at 24 mpg for city and 35 mpg on the highway. Truly, it's not much of a difference, but when power arise added to the equation, it's more impressive.

Kia Seltos is More Fun to Drive

The Kia has a 1.6 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 5 seconds! Being able to get up and go feels great when you need to pass other vehicles or merge into interstate traffic. The RAV4 can't keep up, taking 7.1 seconds to reach the 60 mark. Now the fuel comment makes sense, right?

With great gas mileage and great acceleration, the Seltos is a joy to drive on the open road. But it's also an outstanding vehicle in the city. The 2021 Kia Seltos is easier to get in and out of tight spots and its ride is smooth and comfortable.

Both the 2021 Toyota RAV4 in Albuquerque NM and the Kia Seltos are small crossovers, but the Kia feels spacious and roomy. It provides enough space for five adults to fit comfortably and the cargo area is roomy as well. The Toyota is promoted as a terrific SUV for a parent with two teenagers.

Now that you've learned some interesting ways the Kia Seltos comes out ahead of the RAV4, it's time to see and feel those differences first-hand. Schedule a test drive of the 2021 Kia Seltos at Fiesta Kia.
