The 2022 Kia Carnival Near Rio Rancho NM Will Amaze The Entire Family

The 2022 Kia Carnival near Rio Rancho NM will change your mind about the minivan. Let's face it, minivans have never been considered cool. They offer a ton of advantages and can be described with many words, but cool probably isn't one of them. Even though undeserved, they do carry a certain stigma to some people. Does any kid dream of cruising in their minivan when he or she grows up?

To answer that question…probably not; but all those preconceived ideas will be tossed out the door once car or crossover shoppers discover the Kia Carnival. Previously, Kia provided the Sedona as the brand's offering in the minivan class, but no longer. Entirely redesigned, both inside and out, Kia actually calls the Carnival an MPV or multi-purpose vehicle because really, that's what it is. Of course, MPV also sounds cooler than a minivan, doesn't it?

If you need to transport several people in comfort and safety, the new Kia Carnival near Rio Rancho NM, which fits up to eight occupants, is an outstanding choice. It's overflowing with the latest technology in safety and infotainment, Kia's 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty is the best you'll find, and passenger comfort is a priority.

Under the hood of all models is a naturally aspirated (no turbo, no supercharger) 3.5 liter V6 that can deliver 290 horsepower which is more than enough power to haul the family or crew and all their stuff. Sending that power to the front wheels is an 8-speed automatic transmission.

2022 Kia Carnival near Rio Rancho NM: Design

When you first look at the Kia Carnival, you'll think it's a nice looking SUV. Then on second glance, you'll notice the sliding side doors and realize it's a minivan that's made to blur the lines between the two vehicle classes. Look closely and you'll see design elements more similar to Kia's SUV lineup than the outgoing Sedona.

A tall, squared-off hood, defined wheel arches, and a boxy shape give the Carnival it's crossover appearance. It has a wider upper grille with an updated version of Kia's tiger-nose grille design, with thin LED headlights at the corners. Uniquely designed Daytime Running Lights frame the outer edges of the grille. Under the lower grille in front and the lower valance on the back end is a silver colored accent that gives the impression of skid plates like you'd find on an SUV.

A narrow strip of lighting across the full width of the rear defines the taillights and a cleverly concealed rear wiper is hidden in the spoiler above the back window. Admittedly, the back of the Carnival looks more like a minivan.

Moving to the inside of the 2022 Kia Carnival near Rio Rancho NM you'll find a gorgeous cabin with posh looking glossy piano black plastic surfaces along with contemporary metal accents. A choice of synthetic leather, genuine leather, or cloth upholstery gives you some customization options, along with three interior color theme choices. Clean lines dominate the look of the dash, which houses the infotainment screen in a pod-like setting.

Some really exciting features are offered, and depending on what arrangement you choose, the Kia Carnival will accommodate seven or eight passengers. In the highest trim, SX-Prestige, there are non-removable rear seats that are like what's found in private executive jets. Decked out with winged headrests, leg extensions, and power adjustments, your crew will feel like they're riding first-class.

If you need versatility in your MPV, the eight-passenger Carnival has available "Slide-Flex" second row seats that move forward and back. If no one is sitting in the middle seat it can be flipped forward to use as a table! No matter which model you choose, all third row seats have a 60/40 split and can be folded into the floor. To maximize your cargo space, most Carnival models also include middle-row seats that are totally removable. Only one other minivan currently offers that feature, and that's the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica, which has a much higher price tag than the Kia Carnival.

2022 Kia Carnival near Rio Rancho NM: Features

You'll be amazed at how many family-friendly amenities are available for the Carnival. An intercom, a rear passenger view camera with zoom and night vision, and the capability to mute the audio in the way back are just a few. Standard features on the most affordable LX model include the Slide-Flex second row seats, keyless entry/ignition, hands-free power sliding side doors, and more.

Safety is a top priority in modern vehicles, and the new Kia Carnival doesn't disappoint.  Even the base trim LX comes standard with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision avoidance, lane keeping assist, auto high-beams, driver attention monitoring, rear occupant alert, rear parking sensors, and a safe exit feature.
Standard technology includes Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, six USB ports, Bluetooth, 6-speaker audio system, and an 8-inch touchscreen. Available upgrades include two 115-V outlets, up to nine more USB ports, wireless charging, a 12-speaker Bose audio setup, and lots more.

Like most people, you may not realize that minivans have more cargo space than most of the larger SUVs, even a Chevy Suburban. You can get as much as 145.1 cubic feet in the Carnival, compared to 144.7 cubic feet in the Suburban! If you're serious about spaciousness, the Kia Carnival is class-leading!

There's so much more to the 2022 Kia Carnival, you need to experience it for yourself. When the Carnival makes its appearance in the (expected) later part of this year, come on over to Fiesta Kia at 7400 Lomas Blvd NE in Albuquerque to get acquainted. It may turn out to be just what you need.
