The 2025 Kia EV6 near Rio Rancho, NM is Back

Kia’s flagship electric vehicle is back and better than ever for the new model year! The 2025 Kia EV6 near Rio Rancho, NM returns with updated style and technology, along with a larger battery for even greater driving range. Expected to arrive at American showrooms in early 2025, the Kia EV6 is a practical yet fun-to-drive crossover that seats five. Keep reading to learn more about this exceptional car.

Changes for the New Year

Exterior updates for 2025 include a more angular headlight design to match Kia’s newer models, a modified front bumper, slight changes to the full-width taillight, and revised wheel designs. The frame has been reinforced to meet tougher safety standards, as well. GT-Line and GT-Line S trims will also boast an additional front light bar. Overall, the changes help to give the Kia EV6 a sportier appearance, all while maintaining its distinctive silhouette and dimensions.

Tweaks to the interior include a new steering wheel with a power-tilting column, an enhanced panoramic touchscreen with two 12.3-inch displays, new buttons to control the seat temperature, and a redesigned wireless charging pad. Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto are now standard, as is steering grip detection for the driver and a digital rear-view mirror. Voice control has been improved, and a fingerprint-authentication system for unlocking doors and starting the car is now available.

As for power, the previous 77.4-kWh battery has been replaced with a larger 84-kWh battery pack, improving driving range. Another perk of the 84-kWh battery is a 2700-pound towing capacity for the Kia EV6.

2025 Kia EV6 near Rio Rancho, NM: Power and Performance

The base Kia EV6 has an electric motor on the rear axle and is, therefore, a rear-wheel drive vehicle. However, you can choose two electric motors placed on both axles for all-wheel drive. RWD models offer 167 horsepower with the smaller 63-kWh battery or 225 hp with the 84-kWh pack, while AWD models with the dual motor setup will crank out 320 hp with 446 lb-ft of torque. The top-tier GT trim’s output is now 601 hp with 545 lb-ft of torque, which can rise to 641 hp/568 lb-ft in GT mode for short surges of extra power. It also features enhancements such as firmer chassis tuning, an electronic limited-slip differential, adaptive suspension, and stronger brakes. The GT trim will also sport a Virtual Gear Shift that mimics gears with sounds, visuals, and sensations from motor torque adjustments.

EPA ratings have not been released for the new model, but the prior model was good for 310 miles of range for the larger battery and non-GT trim, while the GT trim’s range was 218 miles. Expect higher numbers for the 2025 model. When using a 350-kW fast charger, the battery can be replenished up to 80% in under 18 minutes.

Interior Comfort

The interior of the Kia EV6 is elegant and high-tech with its vast, digitized screens, a two-tone, two-spoke steering wheel, a center console start button, and gold accents throughout the cabin. Passenger space is ample in both front and rear seats.

The panoramic layout of the screens features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that flows into a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. In addition to the new wireless phone setup, you’ll get wireless charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and available over-the-air updates and voice commands. Upgrade to a Meridian audio system with 14 speakers for a nearly symphonic experience!

Updates to the 2025 Kia EV6 in Albuquerque, NM

Just a few short years ago, in 2022, the sporty Kia EV6 was introduced to the U.S. and impressed us all with its class-leading charging performance, streamlined design, and a GT model that can deliver up to 576 horsepower for a heart-pounding thrill of a ride. Now, the company is preparing a fresh update for the 2025 Kia EV6 in Albuquerque, NM, which is anticipated to go on sale early next year or possibly even in late 2024. Two “teaser” photos were recently released showing revised lighting in both front and rear, but what else is in store? Keep reading to learn what we can expect from this already excellent electric vehicle.

Just a Peek

Despite the two images being only teasers, we can get a pretty good idea of the refreshed exterior. The freshened appearance resembles the newer Kia models, such as the global EV5 electric SUV (which will NOT be coming to the U.S. market) and the new K4 compact sedan. Now featuring an angled C-shaped LED accent curving over the main headlight to join a thin trim piece, the headlights look similar to the “Tiger Nose” grilles of the gasoline-powered models. The taillight still flows up and over the tailgate but receives a tweak to the lighting graphics, with a triangle at the end.

The updated cabin is a different story; nothing is visible from the photos. We do anticipate some changes, however, such as a modified dashboard design (think revamped controls on the center console) and an updated infotainment screen. No significant hardware changes are expected, although the refreshed EV6 could get a larger battery.

2025 Kia EV6 in Albuquerque, NM: Power

Currently, the EV6 is equipped with a 58-kWh battery pack for the entry-level variant, while a 77.4-kWh battery is the largest. In different performance applications, the bigger battery offers a range of 310 miles with 225 hp and 258 lb-ft for the RWD model or up to 218 miles of range with 576 hp/545 lb-ft of torque for the dual-motor, AWD high-performance GT trim. We anticipate the 2025 EV6 will get the upgraded 84 kWh battery pack that its corporate cousin, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, received in its last update, boosting its range by about 20 miles. The base battery should remain as is, and performance outputs aren’t expected to change significantly.

Charging the EV6 is fast and convenient. Because it is compatible with 400-volt and 800-volt DC fast chargers, the Kia EV6 offers quick charging solutions. With more than 130,000 charging stations across the nation and home charging options such as the ChargePoint Home Charger, keeping your new EV6 powered is effortless.

Technology and Safety

You’ll be impressed with the Dual Panoramic Displays and Augmented Reality Head-Up Display, which allow you full control while keeping your eyes focused on the road ahead. And with Remote Smart Parking Assist – a smooth feature that amplifies safety and convenience- you’ll maneuver into any parking spot easily. Beyond technology, the EV6 delivers practical features like generous cargo space, a spacious interior, and an onboard power generator. Download the Kia Connect app, and you can seamlessly merge all your tech to take total command of your drives.

As always, safety is a top priority, and with advanced driver-assist technologies like the Blind-Spot View Monitor, Forward Collision Avoidance, and more, you’ll have even more peace of mind.
